Today was a day of administrative duties. We inquired about shipping Foxy from Alexandria in Egypt. It is possible to send it to Venice, Italy, taking about a week to arrive. Not bad.

All things considered, especially the time constraint issue, we have decided to forego the Middle East leg of our journey and after shipping Foxy from Alexandria, we'll make our way to Cairo and fly to Milan (which we've booked today for Aug. 10th), and then bus/train it to Venice to pick her up again.

We figure it isn't worth rushing through Jordan, Syria and Turkey just because we have a tight schedule. Plus the fact that it will be the middle of summer there, sightseeing will be more of a chore than a pleasure. Now we hope to arrive in Jersey a few days earlier than planned.

We'll see. That's the plan. And we of all people know how plans can - and do -change.
