Today we went back to get our ferry tickets. We are booked for the Wadi Halfa to Aswan ferry on Wednesday, June 25, 1st class cabin! Although we don't have our hopes up, apparently 2nd class is a single seat and 3rd class is standing room only. And we've got at least 18 hours altogether, so we decided best to get 1st class. We'll see what we get.
Afterwards, we got our photography permit at the Travel Bureau downtown. Every tourist must apply for one in order to take pictures in Sudan. And even then, there are strict regulations about what you can photograph. I must resist the urge to just snap whenever and at whatever.
After changing some money at the FOREX bureau, we went in search for the Landy Garage to buy some spare parts and to have our back left passenger door fitted with a padlock. We've been having problems with it on and off and needed a permanent fix once and for all.
The Landy shop was closed but a guy nearby managed to do a decent job. Car mechanics are such lovely friendly people no matter where you are in the world. It's wonderful.
