Kampala, Uganda
Tuesday, May 20, 2008

We were on the road back to Kampala by 8am, but not before stopping at a roadside stall to get some breakfast: avocado and veggie chapati.

My right knee is so painful I can hardly climb into the car. Thank goodness Matt is driving.

Uganda is a country of billboards. There are so many of them, a lot of them quite creative and eye-catching.

I spent the day back at Phil and Claire's home, resting on their comfy couch, using their wireless internet and washing machine, and just relishing in home comforts again.

Matt went to get Foxy serviced, dropped off our passports at the Ethiopian embassy for visa applications and stocked up on more books, not that we need more, but there are too many to resist.

This evening the girls showed me a few songs on the piano that they're learning. Then we launched into some Disney songs, me doing the accompaniment. They're so much fun!

After the girls were put to bed (but not before Matt and I did story time duty), we enjoyed a delicious lasagna dinner and sat down to watch "The Constant Gardener" on their PROJECTOR!! What a treat. And a very fitting movie, as we were about to head out to the Lake Turkana region in Kenya.
