It wasn't the grand entrance we were hoping for when we arrived in Wadi Halfa, but we made it. I could've kissed the ground.
We made an early start this morning, just in case. We started Foxy up, held our breath, and lo and behold, the quick fix with the rubber ring worked! A miracle!
But as the day wore on, our clutch wore out and we had to drive the 300+ km without stopping all the way in 3rd gear.
For cold drinks, I had to climb all over our stuff to reach the fridge in the back. For bathroom stops, we had to go without.
We arrived in mid-afternoon, sought refuge in a restaurant with cold mango juices and then went off into the desert to search for a nice bush camp.
Today is a holiday (Friday and Saturday being the Islamic weekend) so tomorrow we will inquire about the ferry and try to find a mechanic.

Temperature: Today is the summer Solstice and we are right on the Tropic of Cancer (well, we'll pass it on the ferry en route to Aswan, but it's close enough), which means we are at the hottest possible place during the hottest possible time in the year. What luck!
