When my eyes opened at 5:30 this morning, I couldn't go back to sleep. The sound of the crashing waves were too enticing, so I got up, boiled some water for my coffee and along with my coffee flask, took my book and laptop just a few paces from where we camped to the beach.
Here I am, sitting first row centre on Kande Beach watching the sun peek through the thick clouds, strong wind blowing and not a soul in sight, unless you count the resident camp dog. What is it with us and attracting the camp animals? There hasn't been one place where we haven't stayed in for the past week where the resident dog or cat hasn't come to sniff us out.
The wind is still rather strong so I'm not sure if kayaking is such a good idea. There's a rumour that the Liverpool vs. Birmingham match will be showed on tv at the bar later today too.

Well, no kayaking today (too choppy) but we did go swimming, painted a few more pretty pictures on Foxy, fixed some minor things (water tank, gear stick, etc), had our bedding washed by local women from the village (yay for clean sheets!) and had a slow-cooking goat's shoulder braai for dinner. Another great day.
